Nina is a 95 yr old, slender, frail lady in the nursing home where I teach an evening Bible
Study every week. She seldom misses attendance and loves hearing God's Word. Tonight we were studying the Book of Romans (
seven meetings and we had made it up to vs 15 of the first chapter); I read :
Rom 1:15 & 16 (Paul speaking) "So
I am eager to come to you in Rome, too, to preach God's Good News. For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It
is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes -- Jews first and also Gentiles."
Stopping there I asked
the group "What do you think that means?"
With no hesitation, Nina spoke up in her frail, quiet voice "God will take
care of me."
Instantly I felt the Presence of God come into the room and recognized that the teacher was about to
be taught. I continued:
Rom 1:17: "This Good News tells us how God makes us right in His sight. This is accomplished
from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, 'It is through faith that a righteous person has life.'"
Again
I asked "What do you think that means?"
Again with no hesitation came Nina's answer; "God will take care of me."
A
great Joy and Peace dwelled around us --- and I continued:
Rom 1:18,19 : "But God shows His anger from heaven against
all sinful, wicked people who push the Truth away from themselves. For the truth about God is known to them instinctively.
God has put this knowledge in their hearts."
Looking at Nina, I asked "What do you think that means?"
Her
gentle response; "God will take care of me."
I don't have to research every scripture to know "God will take care
of me." is the meaning of every scripture for every person who gives their heart to Christ and puts their trust in Him. Nina
never went to seminary school and her mind is confused about many things ..... but in her heart is the ultimate Truth for
a child of God --- "GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF ME."
